JARCHITECTURE CONTEST MECHANICS

GUIDELINES FOR ENTRIES
  1. Open to all elementary private and public school students.
  2. Contestants may be an individual or a group of students. However only 1 student may be assigned as the group representative during the registration and judging.
  3. A group can have as many members.
  4. A school can have as many individuals or groups of students.
  5. To join, the individual or group should submit the Complete Entry Form:

  6. Upon receipt of the Completed Entry Form, you will receive a Certificate of Participation, and each student will receive a Cheez Whiz Badge.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
  1. The art work must portray the theme: “Good Nutrition” in line with the National Nutrition Month’s Celebration.
  2. Art must be in 3D with a maximum dimension of 26" high x 14" wide x 14" depth mounted on a 1/4" thick board base 16" x 16".
  3. All art work must be made up of 70% (by surface area) empty CHEEZ WHIZ bottles, foil packs and caps and 30% other materials such as paint & other finishes (glue, wire, etc.).
  4. Artwork must portray clearly the subject of the artwork and must not be abstract.
  5. Use of dominant colors; orange, blue, yellow and red is a plus.
  6. The Individual or Group Representative must stand beside the artwork during judging and must be ready to answer the questions from the judges regarding the artwork.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE ARTWORK
Clarity of theme 25% (visualization of subject is clear and evident) Creativity & Originality 25% (ingenious use of materials)

Quality of Composition & design 25% (adheres to the 70 -30 material component)
Overall Impression 25% (appeal to the judge, Q & A portion results)
PROCESS OF SCHOOL ELIMINATION
  1. A school can have as many individuals or groups.
  2. A school can only have 1 individual or group for the Regional Eliminations.
  3. A school can eliminate its individuals and groups using the CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE ARTWORK and JUDGING FORM (as attached).
  4. An assessor must be assigned to accurately measure the artwork so as it does not exceed its maximum allowable dimensions. Artwork that exceeds the maximum allowable dimensions shall automatically be disqualified.
  5. There must be at least 3 and a maximum of 5 judges. The judges can be chosen from the faculty and parents of the school whose student/ child is not participating in and or part of the group.
  6. The judges can each ask the individual or group representative 1 – 3 questions pertaining to the artwork from conception to end result.
  7. The individual or group that gets the highest Final Score will go up to the Regional Eliminations.
  8. In case of a tie, the tied individuals or groups will have to rely on the number of ballots (People’s Choice Award Ballot Sample as attached) from the audience and this will be added to their final score.
  9. Should another tie occur, the judges will have to rescore to determine the winner.
  10. The winning artwork can be modified before the next level of competition without going beyond the maximum dimensions.
  11. The school can decide the date, time and place of its elimination.
PROCESS OF REGIONAL ELIMINATION
  1. A Region must have a maximum of 6 schools per region in all regions except in NCR which will have a maximum of 10 schools.
  2. Only 1 mom and kid team per school is allowed at this level of elimination.
  3. Regional Eliminations are clustered as follows:

  4. Kraft and its affiliates will eliminate the teams using the CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE SANDWICH and JUDGING FORM (as attached).
  5. There must be at least 3 and a maximum of 5 judges. The judges will be chosen by Kraft and its affiliates who have no affinity up to the 3rd degree of consanguinity to the participating schools, students and mom.
  6. A timekeeper must be assigned to make sure the teams do not exceed 15 minutes. A deduction of 1 point from the Final Score of the team will be deducted for every minute or a fraction thereof on overtime.
  7. The team that gets the highest Final Score will go up to the National Finals.
  8. In case of a tie, the tied teams will have to rely on the number of ballots (People’s Choice Award Ballot Sample as attached) from the audience and this will be added to their final score.
  9. Should another tie occur, the judges will have to rescore to determine the winner.
  10. Kraft and its affiliates will inform the Region of the venue, date and time of the National Finals.
  11. Cash Prize can be utilized for expenses needed to compete for the next level of elimination.

PROCESS OF NATIONAL FINALS
  1. The Regional Team Representative must go to Manila on ___ (venue, time and place)
  2. Only 1 mom and kid team per Region is allowed at this level of elimination.
  3. Kraft and its affiliates will eliminate the Regional teams using the CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE SANDWICH and JUDGING FORM (as attached).
  4. There must be at least 3 and a maximum of 5 judges. The judges will be chosen by Kraft and its affiliates who have no affinity up to the 3rd degree of consanguinity to the participating schools, students and teacher – trainor/ coach.
  5. A timekeeper must be assigned to make sure the teams do not exceed 15 minutes. A deduction of 1 point from the Final Score of the team will be deducted for every minute or a fraction thereof on overtime.
  6. The team that gets the highest Final Score will be declared National Champion Team. The 2nd and 3rd place will go to the next highest scorer and so on.

  8. Should another tie occur, the judges will have to rescore to determine the winner.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
  1. Each attendee of each elimination round will be given a ballot (People’s Choice Award Ballot Sample as attached) allowing the audience to vote for their favorite team to win.
  2. The ballots will help determine the winner/s in case of a tie in all levels of elimination.
  3. During the Regional Elimination and National Finals, an on the spot purchase of Cheez Whiz gives the attendee more ballots to increase the chances of his/her favorite team to win the People’s Choice Award.
  4. The People’s Choice Award is given to the team with the most number of ballots regardless of their ranking or place in the Regional Eliminations or Grand Finals.
