MOM & KID SANDWICH RECIPE MAKING CONTEST MECHANICS
GUIDELINES FOR ENTRIES
- Open to all elementary private and public school students at any grade level.
- A school can form as many Mom & Kid Teams
- To join, the participating Mom & Kid Teams should complete and submit the following:
- Cheez Whiz Palamantasan Mom & Kid Sandwich Recipe Making Competition Registration Form
- Authenticated photocopy of birth certificate
- 1 Cheez Whiz bottle cap for each entry

- Upon receipt of the Team’s Completed Entry Form, the Team will receive a Certificate of Participation, and both Mom & Kid will receive a Cheez Whiz Badge
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Each Team’s recipe must include Cheez Whiz as a main ingredient.
- The recipe must be submitted in typewritten form, double spaced, on letter size (8” x 11”) bond paper. Recipe format should include Title, List of Ingredients and Procedure.
- On another sheet, each submission must have a personal narration of the recipe’s relevance and heartfelt impact as a mom-kid tandem wanting to make a difference in each other’s health and learning through bonding. The narration, not to exceed 200 words, must be submitted in typewritten form, double spaced, on letter size (8” x 11”) bond paper.
- Each Mom & Kid Team Representative per school will be asked to present and demo their winning and inspiring nutritious co-created CW recipes.
- The Mom & Kid Teams will prepare their recipes on the table and the judges will taste the food/spread.
- Sandwich Preparation time should not exceed 15 minutes.
- Each Team will bring their own ingredients (excluding Cheez Whiz) and the necessary tools and equipment.
- All the needed ingredients must be pre-cooked. Only mixing and assembly will be allowed. NO COOKING, that is, preparations that will require the use of flame or heat, WILL HAPPEN ON STAGE.

PROCESS OF SCHOOL ELIMINATION
- A school can have as many mom and kid teams.
- A school can only have 1 team representative for the Regional Eliminations.
- A school can eliminate its teams using the CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE SANDWICH and JUDGING FORM (as attached).
- There must be at least 3 and a maximum of 5 judges. The judges can be chosen from the school faculty and parents, provided that their child is not participating in any of the teams.
- A timekeeper must be assigned to make sure the teams do not exceed 15 minutes. A deduction of 1% from the Final Score of the team will be deducted for every minute or a fraction thereof on overtime.
- The team that gets the highest Final Score will go up to the Regional Elimination.
- In case of a tie, the tied teams will have to rely on the number of ballots (People’s Choice Award Ballot Sample as attached) from the audience and this will be added to their final score.
- Should another tie occur, the judges will have to rescore to determine the winner.
- The school can decide the date, time and place of its eliminations.
PROCESS OF REGIONAL ELIMINATION
- A Region must have a maximum of 6 schools per region in all regions except in NCR which will have a maximum of 10 schools.
- Only 1 mom and kid team per school is allowed at this level of elimination.

- Kraft and its affiliates will eliminate the teams using the CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE SANDWICH and JUDGING FORM (as attached).
- There must be at least 3 and a maximum of 5 judges. The judges will be chosen by Kraft and its affiliates who have no affinity up to the 3rd degree of consanguinity to the participating schools, students and mom.
- A timekeeper must be assigned to make sure the teams do not exceed 15 minutes. A deduction of 1 point from the Final Score of the team will be deducted for every minute or a fraction thereof on overtime.
- The team that gets the highest Final Score will go up to the National Finals.
- In case of a tie, the tied teams will have to rely on the number of ballots (People’s Choice Award Ballot Sample as attached) from the audience and this will be added to their final score.
- Should another tie occur, the judges will have to rescore to determine the winner.
- Kraft and its affiliates will inform the Region of the venue, date and time of the National Finals.
- Cash Prize can be utilized for expenses needed to compete for the next level of elimination.

PROCESS OF NATIONAL FINALS
- The Regional Team Representative must go to Manila on ___ (venue, time and place)
- Only 1 mom and kid team per Region is allowed at this level of elimination.
- Kraft and its affiliates will eliminate the Regional teams using the CRITERIA FOR JUDGING THE SANDWICH and JUDGING FORM (as attached).
- There must be at least 3 and a maximum of 5 judges. The judges will be chosen by Kraft and its affiliates who have no affinity up to the 3rd degree of consanguinity to the participating schools, students and teacher – trainor/ coach.
- A timekeeper must be assigned to make sure the teams do not exceed 15 minutes. A deduction of 1 point from the Final Score of the team will be deducted for every minute or a fraction thereof on overtime.
- The team that gets the highest Final Score will be declared National Champion Team. The 2nd and 3rd place will go to the next highest scorer and so on.
- In case of a tie, the tied teams will have to rely on the number of ballots (People’s Choice Award Ballot Sample as attached) from the audience and this will be added to their final score.
- Should another tie occur, the judges will have to rescore to determine the winner.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
- Each attendee of each elimination round will be given a ballot (People’s Choice Award Ballot Sample as attached) allowing the audience to vote for their favorite team to win.
- The ballots will help determine the winner/s in case of a tie in all levels of elimination.
- During the Regional Elimination and National Finals, an on the spot purchase of Cheez Whiz gives the attendee more ballots to increase the chances of his/her favorite team to win the People’s Choice Award.
- The People’s Choice Award is given to the team with the most number of ballots regardless of their ranking or place in the Regional Eliminations or Grand Finals.
